City Bank announces the recent appointment of Md Ashanur Rahman as deputy managing director of the bank.
Ashanur previously held the role of chief economist and country business manager as a senior executive vice-president at the same bank.
With over 20 years of banking experience, Ashanur began his career at Mercantile Bank as management trainee officer in 2004.
He joined City Bank in 2008 during a key transformation phase. He played a vital role in overhauling the credit, legal, and recovery functions and established Risk Management Division in the bank.
After five years at the Royal Bank of Canada, Ashanur returned to City Bank in 2019 as chief economist and country business manager. Since then, he has led numerous strategic initiatives, including launching Bancassurance.
He is an active member of the bank鈥檚 Write Off Loan Recovery Committee, Settlement Committee, KPI Driving Committee, Rewards and Recognition Committee among others.
Ashanur did his graduation at Jahangirnagar University and BIBM. He had also studied in Canada on Investment Funds, said a press release.
