A preparatory meeting was held in the conference room of the bridge division in Dhaka to ensure safe and smooth travel for passengers using the infrastructure of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority during the next Eid-ul-Azha vacation on Tuesday.
The meeting was presided over by Mohammad Abdur Rouf, secretary of the bridge division and executive director of the Bangladesh bridge authority, said a press release on Wednesday.
Abdur Rouf directed that electronic toll collection booths on both ends of the bridges be kept operational to ensure quick and seamless passage for vehicles using ETC cards.
He also instructed that CCTV cameras at toll plazas and booths be kept active to monitor traffic situations at key intersections of all bridges and installations.
Officials from various site offices of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, district administration of respective project areas, range police, Chattogram Metropolitan Police, and senior officials from the relevant highway police departments joined the meeting via the Zoom online platform.
