A minor boy drowned in a pond at Subalpur village under Jibannagar in Chuadanga on Saturday.
The 18-month-old deceased is Abdur Rahman Ratan, son of Md Mintu.
Officer-in-charge of Jibannagar police station Md Mamun Hossain Biswas confirmed the matter.
According to family members, the child was playing near the pond around 7:30am when he accidentally fell into the water.
People of the area rescued the child and took him to Jibannagar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
