Filmmaker Piplu R Khan’s debut feature film titled Jaya Aar Sharmin was released in cinemas in Dhaka on Friday.
The film has been released in Star Cineplex branches at Bashundhara City of Panthapath, Shimanto Shambhar of Dhanmondi, SKS Tower of Mohakhali and Lion Cinemas of Keraniganj in the capital.
Jointly produced by Piplu R Khan and Jaya Ahsan, Jaya Aar Sharmin revolves around the friendship of two women during the Covid crisis.
Actresses Jaya Ahsan and Mohsina Akhter portray the characters of Jaya and Sharmin respectively while Tanjim Saiara Totini has a special appearance in the film.
‘The plot of the film is set in during the Covid crisis. It focuses on creating moments of daily life with delicate emotions, portraying the understanding of two women. I hope that the film will attract the film lovers,’ said Piplu.Â
Shot during the pandemic in 2020, the screenplay of Jaya Aar Sharmin has been jointly written by Piplu and Nusrat Islam Maati.
