A Higher Secondary Certificate examinee from Dhaka city’s Notre Dame College died on Monday afternoon reportedly as he fell from an upper storey of the academic building on the campus.
The police said that Dhrubobrata Das, 18, probably fell from the third floor of the academic building named Father Timm Bhaban at about 3:20pm. Physicians at Dhaka Medical College Hospital declared him dead after he was taken there.
DMCH police out-post in-charge Md Faruk said that Dhrubobrata’s father took him to DMCH where physicians declared him dead at about 4:30pm.  Â
‘We assume that he fell from the third floor of the academic building as the second floor was closed,’ said Motijheel police officer-in-charge Mesbah Uddin.
He said that the body was kept at the DMCH morgue for autopsy and an unnatural death case would be filed.
His father Banibrata Das told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that he was waiting outside the college as his son went inside to collect the admit card for the forthcoming HSC examinations.
‘I heard that my son fell from the academic building. It is an accident,’ he added.
