The Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday filed two cases against former lawmaker from Noakhali-3 constituency Md Mamunur Rashid Kiron and his wife Jasmin Aktar on charges of amassing Tk聽51 crore beyond known sources of income and suspicious transactions of Tk聽211 crore in his bank accounts.
Earlier on the day, the commission at a meeting approved to file the cases against the couple for the graft charges, said ACC deputy director for public relations Aktarul Islam.
According to the cases, Mamun amassed illegal assets worth Tk聽49.44 crore abusing power and through corruption while the commission also found suspicious transactions of Tk聽211 crore in his 22 bank accounts.
Another case filed against Mamun鈥檚 wife Jasmin Aktar on charges of amassing illegal wealth worth Tk 1.83 crore. Mamunur Rashid Kiron is also accused in the case.
