Two children drowned in ponds in two separate incidents under Faridganj in Chandpur on Wednesday.
Minor boy Abdullah, 2, son of M Rubel, drowned in a pond around 11:00am at Solodana village under the upazila.
In another incident, a two-year-old boy Mahafuj, son of Qatar expatriate Mahabub, drowned in a pond near their house at Sahebganj village under the same upazila.
Dr Parvez Ahmed, a doctor of Faridganj Upazila Health Complex, said that the two children died before they were brought to the hospital.
Faridganj police station officer-in-charge Md Shah Alam confirmed the matter.
