Another new political party called ‘Bangladesh Swaraj Party’ was launched in the country on Tuesday.
This time the new party leaders announced the launch at a press conference held at Sylhet District Press Club in the afternoon.
The BSP Sylhet divisional unit president, Masudur Rahman Chowdhury, also known as Masud Miah, read out a script on behalf of the party at the programme.
He said that Bangladesh Swaraj Party was not just a new political platform, but rather it was also a manifestation of a modern, timely and value-based political consciousness.
The current socio-political scenario of the country is very chaotic, Masud Miah said, adding that economic inequality, ideological division is weakening the nation.Â
‘In this situation, there is no alternative but to forge national unity and good governance,’ Masud claimed in his written speech.
He said that the formation of a new political party such as the ‘Bangladesh Swaraj Party’ was needed to fulfil the long-awaited expectations of the countrymen.
‘The emergence of the BSP is the reflection of people’s deprivation of basic rights, civil and human rights as well as their pent-up anger against all kinds of injustice,’ the new party leader added.
The BSP founding convener Gias Uddin Ahmed called on the people from all classes and professions to join the new political movement and come forward to build a developed, justice-base humanitarian Bangladesh.
Among others, BSP Sylhet district president Harun Raja Chowdhury, Sylhet divisional joint general secretary Kazi Tofail Azam, Sylhet district joint general secretary Nirmal Chadra Dhar and Sylhet district assistant organising secretary Dudhu Miah attended the programme.
