
Shahjalal Islami Bank PLC on Wednesday provided scholarships to 250 poor and meritorious students, who have passed HSC and equivalent examinations, said a press release.
Chairman AK Azad was present as chief guest at the scholarship handover ceremony held at the bank鈥檚 corporate head office in the capital Dhaka.
Of the 250 scholarship recipients, 125 are male and 125 female, who are currently studying in the first year of their degree in various public universities, government medical colleges and engineering universities. A total of Tk 3,17,50,000 will be given to them to complete their courses in four years.
SJIB director and chairman of bank foundation Anwar Hossain Khan was present as a special guest.
SJIB managing director Mosleh Uddin Ahmed presided over the event.
