Akbar Ali is set to lead the Bangladesh Emerging team against the visiting South Africa for three one-day and two four-day games, which will be played later this month.Ìý

The Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the 15-member squad as well as the fixtures on Friday.Ìý


Akbar, the Under-19 World Cup-winning captain, has recently led the Legends of Rupganj in the recently concluded Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League.Ìý

The selectors also called up the young leg-spinner Wasi Siddique, who took 19 wickets in the DPL.Ìý

The South African Emerging Team will arrive on May 7 and travel to Rajshahi, where the three One Dayers will be played on May 12, 14, and 16, respectively.Ìý

The teams will then move to Chattogram, where the first four-day game will be held between May 20 and May 23 at the Bir Shreshtha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium.

The second and final match is scheduled to be played on May 27 at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.Ìý
