At least five people were killed and two others injured in road accidents in Jhalakati, Munshiganj, Naogaon and Netrakona districts on Saturday. 

¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· Correspondent in Barishal reported that two people were killed when a Mahindra (three-wheeler) hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw parked on the side of the Nalchity-Jhalakati road in the Bakultala area on ​​the Barishal-Patuakhali road.


The deceased are Hashem Hawlader, 70, of Chamta Krishnanagar and Mohammad Shamim, 50, of Falaghar area of ​​Bakerganj upazila.

Abdus Salam, officer-in-charge of Nalchiti police under Jhalakati district, said that legal action would be taken if the families of the deceased file a complaint.

The Mahindra was taken into police custody, but its driver managed to flee.

Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha reported that a motorcyclist was killed when a speeding car hit a motorbike in the Bhaberchar area under Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj.

Meanwhile, the BSS reported that a nine-year-old boy was killed after he was hit by a truck while crossing the road at Hirakanda in Pogla union under Kalmakanda upazila in Netrakona.

The deceased is Abdullah, son of Ahmed of Anantapur village in Madhyanagar upazila of the Sunamganj district.

Kalmakanda police OC Md Firoz Hossain said that the police arrested the truck driver, Mahmudul aged 25.
