The police detained three madrassah teachers in Fatikchari upazila of Chattogram on charges of raping a 12-year-old boy early Monday.
Law enforcers conducted a raid at Darul Azka Faizia Madrassah in the Bibirhat area of Fatikchari municipality at 1:00am and held the trio.
The detained are Golam Rabbi, 22, hefz department teacher from Taraganj in Rangpur, Md Nurul Islam, 24, kitab department teacher from Kamalpukur of Thakurgaon and Pearul Islam, 19, from Bhujpur Thana in Fatikchari upazila.
The victim, a resident of Fatikchari, is a student of the madrassah. Following the assault, his mother filed a case under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act with the Fatikchari police station, accusing the three teachers.
Nur Ahmed, officer-in-charge of the police station, said that they received the complaint.
According to the case statement, two teachers of the three raped the child inside the madrassah Friday night. Subsequently, the third teacher attempted to rape him repeatedly in next two days.
The victim disclosed the incidents upon returning home on Sunday.
