A young couple lost their lives after being struck by a train while taking a selfie near a railway track in the capital鈥檚 Uttara area on Saturday evening, according to railway police.
The victims were identified as Masum, 25, from Netrokona, and his wife Eti Khatun, 23, from Mymensingh. The incident occurred around 6:30pm in Uttara鈥檚 Azampur area.
Officer-in-charge of Dhaka Railway Police Station, Zainal Abedin, confirmed the incident and said, 鈥楾hey were husband and wife. We have learned that they were hit by a train while taking a selfie near the track鈥�.
