The Rapid Action Battalion arrested the accused on charges of forcibly raping a girl of Lalmonirhat by threatening to upload her obscene pictures on the internet at Ashulia in Dhaka on Thursday.
The arrested, Md Rubel, 25, is a resident of village Rajpur under Lalmonirhat Sadar.
A joint operational team of RAB-13鈥檚 CPSC in Rangpur and RAB-4鈥檚 Crime Prevention Company in Savar camp in a raid arrested the accused at Bhadail area of Ashulia, said a press release on Friday.
Enhancing intelligence activities, the elite force confirmed the location of the accused.
Later, the arrested has been handed over to the Lalmonirhat Sadar police station for further legal action.
Earlier this month, the accused tactfully recorded obscene pictures of the victim of the same area on his mobile phone.
Later, he forcibly raped her against her will by threatening and intimidating her to spread the picture on the internet.
Subsequently, the victim herself filed a rape and pornography case against the accused with the Sadar police station of Lalmonirhat on April 13.
