The newly appointed education chief of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation, Norihide Furukawa, paid a courtesy call on University Grants Commission of Bangladesh chairman Professor SMA Faiz at the UGC in Dhaka on Thursday.
UGC members Professor Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan, Professor Mohammad Anwar Hossain, Professor Masuma Habib, secretary Md Fakhrul Islam, international cooperation department director, current responsibilities, Jesmin Pervin, among others, were present at the meeting, said a press release.
The meeting discussed in detail the inception report of the research on social and mental well-being of university students under the social and mental health protection project being implemented jointly by the UGC and the UNESCO.
SMA Faiz welcomed the newly appointed UNESCO education chief and thanked him for undertaking the project for the welfare of university students. He assured of proper implementation of this project.
