
Bangladesh stormed into the semi-finals of the Men鈥檚 AHF Cup 2024 as Pool B champions after a 2-1 win over Thailand in their third match at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Tuesday.
With the win, four-time defending champions Bangladesh earned nine points from three games to remain on top after defeating Indonesia 3-2 and Kazakhstan 5-1 in their previous encounters.
Arshad Hossain scored the match winner from a field goal in the 34th minute after Thailand鈥檚 Kraiwich Thawichat equalised in the 29th minute to cancel out Bangladesh鈥檚 lead, which came through a penalty corner strike from Ashraful Islam in the 23rd minute.
Bangladesh will play their final pool match against Sri Lanka today.
The semi-finals of the 10-team tournament will be held on April 25, while the final is on April 27. The finalists of this tournament will qualify for the next edition鈥檚 Asia Cup.
