
At least two leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party affiliated organisations were allegedly injured in a scuffle over Eid greeting posters at the Kalapara upazila in Patuakhali.
The incident took place in the Orphanage area of the ​​Kalapara municipality on Friday night.
At that time, panic spread among the people who had come to shop at the Eid market.
Later, the situation was brought under control with the intervention of senior leaders of the party.
According to witnesses and local sources, on Friday night, Jatiyatabadi Swechchhasebak Dal leader Kajal Mridha and Juba Dal leader Kalam Howlader had a verbal altercation over pasting the Eid greetings posters in the Orphanage area of the Kalapara municipality.Â
At one stage, the altercation turned into a clash.
Juba Dal leader Kalam Howlader and Swechchhasebak Dal leader Kajal Mridha were injured in the clash.
Injured Kalam was sent to a hospital for treatment as he was injured.
Tiakhali union BNP secretary Jasim Peyada said that there was a misunderstanding between them.
Reconciling the feuding parties on Saturday, upazila BNP president Haji Humayun Sikder warned them.
Kalapara police officer-in-charge Jewel Islam said, ‘I am not aware of the matter and no complaint has been lodged in this regard.’
