CA returns home

Chief adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Saturday urged the students to imagine always big things aiming to change the world.

The chief adviser returned home on Saturday night, wrapping up his four-day official tour to China.

A commercial flight of Air China carrying the chief adviser and his entourage landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka at about 8:10pm.

Hong Lei, Chinese assistant minister for foreign affairs and also the chief protocol officer of the Chinese president Xi Jinping, saw off Professor Yunus at Beijing Capital International Airport at the conclusion of his four-day official visit to China.

While addressing a function at Peking University in Beijing, he said, ‘A university or educational institution is not only a place to learn what happen, but imagine.’

Noting imagination is the greatest power on the earth, Professor Yunus said, ‘If you imagine, it will happen. If you do not imagine, it will never happen.’

Mentioning that things happen because somebody imagines, he said, ‘Imagination is more powerful than anything we can bring together.’

Professor Yunus encouraged them to imagine the most odd and unhurt things although doing such things seem to be impossible. ‘But, the human journey is about making impossible possible. That is our job. And we can make it happen.’

Prof Yunus received an honorary doctorate degree from Peking University at the function.

Chair of the Peking University Council He Guangcai and president Gong Qihuang also spoke on the occasion.
