A five-day painting workshop titled Swadeshnama is under way at the National Art Gallery at聽 Shilpakala Academy in Dhaka to mark International Women鈥檚 Day.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy鈥檚 fine arts department is organising the workshop.
Fifteen promising and renowned women painters are participating in the workshop.
Eminent painter Abdus Shakur Shah is conducting the event.
The workshop comprises a central theme 鈥楽woparjita Shilpa鈥� that aims to create artworks based on oriental characters and transforms them into a universal pattern.
Artists Kanak Chanpa Chakma, Asmita Alam, Monira Begum Lipi, Tahmina Hafiz Lisa and Ruposhree Hajong, among others, are participating in the workshop.聽聽聽
The workshop began on Wednesday and will end on Sunday.
