
The Ganatantra Mancha, a combine of six political parties, in a statement on Sunday expressed concern over increasing countrywide repressions on women and children and also filling cases against student leaders.
The interim government has failed to maintain law and order situation of the country under control and also stop repressions on children and women, said the statement.
The leaders of the combine also urged the government to withdraw the cases filed against the student leaders for holding march towards the residence of the chief adviser in Dhaka on March 11.聽
Moreover, the police on Saturday midnight tried to arrest Bangladesh Chhatra Federation president Moshiur Rahman Khan Richard from his home in Dhaka, which was against the spirits of the July-August uprising, the statement said.
They also called on the interim government to refrain from taking such repressive steps and taking adequate steps to stop repressions on children and women.
The signatories to the statement are coordinator of the combine and also general secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party Saiful Huq, Nagarik Oikya president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Ganosamhati chief coordinator Zonayed Saki, convener of Bhashani Anusari Parishad Sheikh Rafiqul Islam Bablu, Rashtra Sanskar Andolan chief coordinator Hasnat Quaiyum and Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal-JSD general secretary Shahid Uddin Mahmod Shapon.
