The day after getting dropped from the national side, off-spinner Sultana Khatun took five wickets as Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Shamiti won by just three runs against Bangladesh Police Cricket Club at the Bashundhara Sports Complex in the Dhaka Premier Division Women鈥檚 Cricket League, which ended on Thursday.

Khelaghar managed just 104 runs in 33 overs after opting to bat first as off-spinner Nida Rashid took 4-15 runs.聽

Sultana, who opened the bowling, spun a web into Police鈥檚 innings as they became 55-8 in the 22nd over. However, a fightback from the lower order put the police on the brink of their first victory of the season.聽

But they fell agonisingly short when they were all out in 47.2 overs. Sultana grabbed five for just 25 runs.聽

The other match of the last day was also a thriller where Kalabagan Krira Chakra beat Bangladesh Ansar and VDP by just one wicket.聽

Ansar scored 204 in 44.3 overs thanks to Aysa Akter Jr.鈥檚 75 off 95 balls. No other batter even reached the 30-run mark.聽

Kalabagan lost their way in the middle after adding 80 runs in the opening stand. They still needed 20 runs from the last 18 deliveries when the seventh wicket fell.聽

They lost two more in the last over but eventually crossed the final hurdle.聽
