
Four Bangladeshi players were sharing the top spot at the end of the third round asection of the Asian Zone 3.2 Chess Championship in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on Wednesday.
International Master Manon Raja Neer, IM Fahad Rahman, FIDE Master Tahsin Tajwar Zia, and FM Syed Mahfuzur Rahman all earned 2.5 points each to share the lead.
In the open section third round games, Neer drew against Mahfuz and Fahad was held by Tahsin. Another Bangladeshi campaigner in the open section, FM Sakline Mostafa Sajid, defeated Induwara Thisarindu of Sri Lanka.
Bangladeshi Woman International Master Rani Hamid, who shared the top spot with two points after the second round in the women鈥檚 section on Tuesday, lost to Woman Candidate Master Newansa Esandi of Sri Lanka.
Bangladeshi WFM Wadifa Ahmed defeated her compatriot WFM Noshin Anjum and earned 2.5 points from three games to share the second place with Pallie Ehsha Mishela of Sri Lanka.
