
Bangladesh Under-16 boys’ team made exit from the Davis Cup Junior pre-qualifying 2025 competition after losing to Pakistan 3-0 in the quarter-final in Kuching, Malaysia on Thursday.
In the singles events, Khabbo Gayen lost to Hamza Roman by 3-6, 1-6 sets while Tanvir Mun Tushar lost to Mikaeel Shahbaz Ali Baig by 2-6, 0-6 sets.
In the doubles, Bangladesh pair Tushar and Khabbo lost to Pakistan pair of Hamza and Abubakar Talha by 4-6, 1-6 sets.
Earlier Bangladesh reached into the quarter-finals after a 2-1 win over Guam on Wednesday after starting their campaign with a 2-1 win over Pacific Oceania in the opening day games of the 23-nation competition on Monday.
The participating teams are: Indonesia, Kuwait, Cambodia, Singapore, Macau, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, Bahrain, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Bhutan, Maldives, Guam, Pacific Oceania, Bangladesh, Philippines, Vietnam, Lebanon, and Lao.
The top two-place finishers will earn their coveted spots for the qualifying rounds to be held in Kazakhstan in May.
