
Information and broadcasting adviser Md Mahfuj Alam on Wednesday stressed on conducting a survey on listeners of Bangladesh Betar to make programmes of the state-run radio time-befitting in line with the listeners鈥� demand.
鈥楤etar still serves as one of the main sources of information, education and entertainment for the country鈥檚 people,鈥� he said at an exchange of views with Bangladesh Betar officials at its headquarters in the city鈥檚 Agargaon area, said a press release.
Putting emphasize on preserving the old programmes of the radio, Mahfuj said that old programmes should be preserved in a digital catalogue online.
Besides, the old programmes should be rebroadcast considering the audience demand, he added.
He emphasised the need to formulate a specific action plan to improve the quality of the Betar鈥檚 programmes, urging the Betar officials, artistes and technicians to make it suitable for the younger generation.
Bangladesh Betar director general ASM Zahid, additional DG for programme M Anwar Hossain Mridha and chief engineer Munir Ahmad were present at the meeting, among others.
