
Two people were injured as they got into a fight over drug trading in Rangamati on Sunday night, police said.
The injured are — Sumon Chakma, 40, and Md Khokon, 35.
Sumon Chakma sustained stabbing injuries near his neck, hands and back, said Shawkot Akbar, medical officer at Rangamati General Hospital.
‘Sumon was referred to Chattogram Medical College Hospital while Khokon was discharged after primary treatment,’ he added.
Later, police detained Khokon, said Md Sahed Uddin, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station.
A patrolling team of police found Sumon in Rangamati Gymnasium area at about 10:00pm on Sunday, he said, adding that the incident occurred at his house in PTI area in the town.
‘Police found that Sumon and Khokon are friends for a long time. They had a fight over drug trading,’ he said.
