The three-day BCSIR Science and Industrial Technology Fair 2025 begins on the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research premises in Dhaka on Monday.

The three-day BCSIR Science and Industrial Technology Fair 2025 began on the Bangladesh Council of Scientific and Industrial Research premises in the city on Monday.

Inaugurating the fair as chief, science and technology ministry’s senior secretary Md Mokabbir Hossain said that the event aimed at fostering innovation and scientific development among young students and self-taught scientists.


Additional Secretary of the ministry Md Delwar Hossain attended the inauguration as a special guest while BCSIR chairman Samina Ahmed presided over the inauguration ceremony.

Organised by BCSIR, the three-day event showcased 66 innovative science projects from around 200 young scientists, representing various educational institutions and independent innovators.

Several organisations under the Ministry of Science and Technology also presented their research and activities at the event.

A project titled Carbon Absorber developed and presented by Government Science High School students Hussain Bishwash and Umaeer Safwan Hoque and another remarkable project titled Anti-Sleep Alarm for Drivers developed and presented by Rajuk Uttara Model College student Rafsanul Hoque were presented at the fair.

Umayya Haque Sauda and Jannatul Ferdous Oishee from Birshreshtha Munshi Abdur Rouf Public College presented a Soil Sensor Pumping Machine at the fair.

Students of Dhaka Shikkha Board Laboratory School College, Afra Yasin Raisa and Adiba Akbar, have showcased a project for rural areas, demonstrating how to easily make light from local ingredients.

The fair will conclude on February 26.
