The house of Sheikh Helal, cousin of ousted Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina, was bulldozed by a group of students and people at 8:40pm on Wednesday, witnesses said.
The house is situated on Sher-e-Bangla Road in Khulna City.
In Dhaka, a large group of people, including students broke into Bangabandhu Museum building at Dhanmondi in Dhaka city and vandalised the house of the country鈥檚 founding president Sheikh Mujibur Rahman on the day.
The agitators stormed the museum premises at about 8:00pm after the Student Against Discrimination convener Hasnat Abdullah announced on his verified Facebook page that Bangladesh would be freed of fascist bastion on Wednesday night.
The tension was triggered after the banned Bangladesh Chhatra League on its verified Facebook page shared that ousted prime minister Sheikh Hasina would address in a virtual session at about 9:00pm on Wednesday.
