The dance production also depicts the influence of three women namely Kadambari, Mrilanili and Indira Devi on Rabindranath Tagore.
The production tells the story through classical dances, contemporary dances, classical Jazz and more synchronised with the theatrical staging and lighting, which was also choreographed and designed by Pooja Sengupta. Â
Atik Rahman played the character of Tagore while Pooja Sengupta portrayed most of the prominent female characters while Amlan Biswas designed the stage lighting.
Pooja Sengupta mentioned in her directorial note that Tagore was not presented as a person on the stage before and the story was presented in a blend of Tagorean and Shakespearean approach. Â
‘The show premiered in 2015 and through the 12th performance today, we are celebrating one decade of this production. It’s a big team and also a big arrangement which is difficult to stage regularly without special occasion,’ Pooja said, adding that her team and the audience played a vital role in this journey.
