There is nothing to be upset about not getting a team in the Pakistan Super League, as per Bangladesh fast bowler Taskin Ahmed.
Nahid Rana, Rishad Hossain, and Liton Das were roped in from the draft of the PSL recently by three different teams.
When he was asked if he was disappointed with not getting a team in the PSL, Taskin said, 鈥業s there anything to be upset about?鈥�
鈥楳y prime target is to serve my country and do well wherever I play. I am not fazed by those things. I know if I can keep playing well, opportunities will definitely come,鈥� added the fast bowler.
Taskin, who was reportedly approached by IPL franchises multiple times in the past but couldn鈥檛 avail himself of those opportunities as BCB declined No Objection Certificates each time.
鈥楾here were several opportunities for me to play in the IPL,鈥� Taskin told reporters in Chattogram on Tuesday.
鈥楢t least three times, I could remember. So it鈥檚 not an upset for me. If it had frustrated me, I would鈥檝e hung myself by now. I wasn鈥檛 destined to be there [PSL]. There will be a lot more chances in the future, I hope.鈥�
Since making his international debut, Taskin has only played in the Lanka Premier League outside of the BPL.
Taskin, however, said that even from the PSL, any team might call him whenever they need a replacement.
鈥業 didn鈥檛 get any team in the draft, but that鈥檚 not the end of the world,鈥� he said.
鈥業n franchise cricket, any team may need a replacement at any time. It鈥檚 the same for the PSL.
鈥楶ersonally, I didn鈥檛 talk to anyone. Agents actually handle these things, so I haven鈥檛 been in communication with any franchises,鈥� Taskin added.
Taskin, who was handed over the captaincy of the Durbar Rajshahi before their last match, has been in top form with the ball in the ongoing BPL.
He鈥檚 so far scalped 20 wickets in nine matches, which is seven more than the second bowler in the highest wicket-takers chart.
Rajshahi are currently in fifth position in the table with six points from nine games. Their next fixture is against the table-toppers Rangpur Riders鈥攚ho have already qualified for the playoffs with eight consecutive wins鈥攐n Thursday at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
