A solo traditional rickshaw painting exhibition of artist Nobo Kumar Bhadra titled 鈥楻ickshaw Artistry: A World Heritage鈥 is underway on the Gulshan premises of Alliance Fran莽aise de Dhaka.

The Gulshan branch of the non-profit organisation is organising the exhibition.

The two-week-long exhibition features 70 artworks including paintings and sketches on paper and cinema posters on tinplate depicting ancient myths of Bengal, folklore and nature of Bangladesh.

In Nobo Kumar鈥檚 paintings, especially in animal stories, his animals act like humans, combining humour with the vivid look of old movies.

The exhibition also displays his trademark miniature hand-crafted rickshaw model and utensils painted with the popular rickshaw painting style.

The artist has been practising rickshaw painting since 1987 after having working experience with painting film banners under artist Shitesh Shur, a master painter of late 70s Dhaka in this genre.

The exhibition was inaugurated by Denmark鈥檚 ambassador to Bangladesh Christian Brix M酶ller on January 10.

聽It will end on January 24.
