A Bangladeshi man was found dead at Gauranagar area under Khowai Police Station in Tripura State of India on Monday morning, the Border Guard Bangladesh said. 

The deceased is Zahur Ali, 50, a security guard of ACI company’s Basundhara Branch in Dhaka and son of Monsub Ullah of Pashchim Dulna village under Gazipur union at Chunarughat upazila in Habiganj, the BGB said.


The BGB 55 Battalion commander Lieutenant Colonel Tanzil confirmed the death of the Bangladesh national and told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that the man had been suffering from a mental disability.

‘Zahur Ali came home from his workplace on Sunday and entered the Indian territory on Monday crossing the border near the Guibil border outpost of the BGB near the international pillar number 1968 at the Chunarughat upazila,’ he said.

The BGB official also said that the Indian people saw Zahur Ali lying on a road at Gauranagar under the Khowai police station of Tripura at around 10:00am on Tuesday and informed the police.

Indian Border Security Force said that the efforts to identify the reason behind the death of the Bangladeshi national were underway and his body would be handed over to Bangladesh police after completion of the investigation, Colonel Tanzil said quoting BSF in the evening.
