On the occasion of New Year, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University held a discussion with faculties, doctors, and resident students of its ophthalmology and community ophthalmology department on Wednesday.
The programme was attended by BSMMU vice-chancellor professor Md Shahinul Alam, pro-vice-chancellor (research and development) Md Mujibur Rahman Howlader, pro-vice-chancellor (administration) professor Md Abul Kalam Azad, treasurer professor Nahreen Akhter, dean of the surgery faculty professor Md Ruhul Amin, proctor Sheikh Forhad, chairman of the department of ophthalmology professor Syed Abdul Wadud, chairman of the community ophthalmology department professor Md Shawkat Kabir, and director (hospital) brigadier general Md Rezaur Rahman, among others, said a press release on Thursday.
On Wednesday morning, BSMMU administration attended the New Year celebration and farewell ceremony for the 10th batch of residents at paediatric surgery department in the C-block. During the event, the newly appointed chairman of the paediatric surgery department professor KM Didarul Islam was welcomed, and the outgoing chairman, professor Sushankar Kumar Mondal was honoured.
