A 35-year-old man was electrocuted in Charclark village at Subarnachar in Noakhali on Wednesday.
The deceased is Jahed Hossain, son of Md Hanif Miah, a resident of the same village.
According to the police, Jahed鈥檚 water pump had been out of order for several days. At around 11:00am, he borrowed a pump from his neighbour, Yusuf Ali, to irrigate his fields. While attempting to connect the pump to a live electrical cable, Jahed was electrocuted and died instantly.
Charjabbar police officer-in-charge Shahin Miah said that the body was handed over to the victim鈥檚 family after necessary procedures.
