
Kamran Tanvirur Rahman has been re-elected president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka for 2025.
The decision was made at the first meeting of the chamber’s new board of directors on November 26, and confirmed at MCCI’s 120th annual general meeting on Tuesday, according to a press release.
Kamran T Rahman serves as chairman and managing director of Kapna Tea Company Limited and Pubali Jute Mills Limited.
He is also chairman of the Bangladesh Tea Association and a member of the Labour Reform Commission formed by the interim government.
He served on the governing body of the International Labour Organisation and as regional vice-president of the International Organisation of Employers for Asia-Pacific.
Habibullah N Karim has been re-elected as senior vice-president of MCCI for 2025. He is managing director and chief executive officer of Technohaven Company Limited and chairman of Kori Digital Bank PLC.
He is a former president of BASIS and vice-president of the Bangladesh Employers’ Federation.
Simeen Rahman, group CEO of Transcom Limited, has also been re-elected as MCCI’s vice-president for 2025. She is also a member of the executive board of International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh.
