Students of Pathshala South Asian Media Institute on Sunday organised an exhibition titled 36 to pay tribute to July uprising heroes on their premises at the Drik Path Bhaban in the capital.
Pathshala founder Shahidul Alam and Pathshala principal KM Harun were present as chief guests at the inaugural ceremony.
The 14-day exhibition, organised and curated by Pathshala students, is comprised of graffiti, photographs, installations, video documentaries, newspaper cutting and news clips of different media houses about the student-led mass uprising.
The exhibition features artworks of both current students and alumni of Pathshala.
‘I am glad to see the exhibition featuring mass people’s sacrifice because most of the participants, even the dead and injured among the protesters, were non-students,’ said Shahidul Alam.
‘I hope the sacrifices of the people in the July uprising will not go in vain,’ said KM Harun. Â
Celebrating its 26-year journey, the institute organises artist talks, memes presentation, panel discussion on press for democracy, film screening, masterclass and musical performances as part of the eight-day event.
The exhibition will end on December 28.
