The first-ever women鈥檚 three-day first-class cricket tournament in Bangladesh is set to begin on December 21 in Rajshahi as the Bangladesh Cricket Board announced the four teams and the schedule for the first two rounds on Thursday.聽
The tournament, which is called Women鈥檚 BCL, will feature four teams named South Zone, East Zone, Central Zone, and North Zone.聽
National team captain Nigar Sultana Joty will lead the Central Zone, while Rabeya, Sobhana Mostary, and Fahima Khatun were named as the captains of the South, North, and East Zones, respectively.聽
Two grounds in Rajshahi鈥擝angla Trac Cricket Academy Ground and Shahid Kamaruzzaman Stadium鈥攚ill host the first two rounds. South will face East while Central will take on North in the first round that begins on December 21.聽
The second round will start on December 26 when South-North and Central-East will face off.聽
Bangladesh women, despite gaining Test status three years ago, are yet to play in the longer version of the game.聽
