
The jersey unveiling ceremony of the Bangladesh Under-21 men and women’s hockey teams for the AHF Hockey Junior Asia Cup 2024 was held at the BAF Falcon Hall in the city on Wednesday.
The men’s team will leave for Oman on Saturday to take part in the competition, which is also the qualifiers of the FIH Hockey Junior World Cup 2025, to be held from November 26 to December 4.Â
Bangladesh men’s team will face hosts Oman, China, Malaysia, and Pakistan in their Pool B matches.Â
The women’s team will leave for Muscat on December 3 to take part in the tournament to be held from December 7 to 15. They will face China, India, Malaysia, and Thailand in their Pool A matches.Â
Bangladesh Hockey Federation president Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan unveiled the jerseys and took part in a photo session with the players, coaching staff, and BHF’s new ad-hoc committee members.
‘I see huge potential in you. I expect you to qualify for the 2025 [FIH Hockey Junior] World Cup,’ said the BHF president.
Bangladesh men’s team qualified for the tournament as champions of the Men’s Junior AHF Cup 2024, while the women’s team qualified as the runners-up of the Women’s Junior AHF Cup 2024.
