Writers and poets said on Monday that Hasan Azizul Haque wrote a lot on the 1947 partition of India which writings were successful aesthetically in Bangla literature, especially his short-stories.
They made the remark at a seminar, titled Hasan Azizul Haque: Deshbhager Ondho Surkar, organised by Bangla Academy to mark the third anniversary of the death of Independence Award-winning writer Hasan Azizul Haque at the academy in the capital.
Writer Ehsan Mahmud read the seminar paper while writer Wasi Ahmed and Moshiul Alom spoke on the paper.聽
Bangla Academy director Sarkar Amin delivered a welcome speech in the event presided over by director general of the academy Mohammad Azam.
Ehsan Mahmud said that Hasan Azizul Haque wrote almost six decades about migration due to the 1947 partition of India.
鈥楧escription of the Rarh Bengal was widely used in his writings while he mostly wrote about migration,鈥� said Ehsan.聽聽聽
The seminar paper satirised Hasan Azizul Haque as an author, said Wasi Ahmed, adding, 鈥楬asan Azizul Haque wrote about forceful migration and the displaced, his short stories are a milestone in Bangla literature.鈥櫬犅犅�
Moshiul Alom said that Azizul Haque wrote not much about partition but sadness of migration was always in his writings, adding, 鈥楶icturisation is the basic strength of Hasan Azizul Haque and wrote the struggle of ordinary people in his works.鈥櫬�
Mohammad Azam said that aesthetically Hasan Azizul Haque was inspired by Marxism, modernism and partition.
