The Anti-Corruption Commission on Monday filed a case against Khulna Metropolitan Police鈥檚 additional deputy commissioner SM Kamruzzaman allegedly for amassing wealth worth Tk 1.02 crore beyond known sources of income.

ACC assistant director Rakibul Islam filed the case with the commission鈥檚 integrated district office in Khulna, said the ACC deputy director for public relations, Aktarul Islam.


The case statement said that Kamruzzaman, in his wealth statement submitted to the ACC, showed his wealth worth Tk 2.90 crore, including immovable wealth worth Tk 1.87 crore and movable wealth worth Tk 1.02 crore.

The ACC, however, during its inquiry, found his movable and immovable wealth worth Tk 3.9 crore during his service period from 1996 to 2019.

Scrutinizing the assets of Kamruzzaman, the ACC found that he amassed wealth worth Tk 1.02 crore beyond known sources of income.

Apart from this, the commission also found that Kamruzzaman concealed information of wealth worth Tk 19.60 lakh in his wealth statement.

Kamruzzaman, during his service period between 1996 and December 18, 2019, amassed wealth worth Tk 1.02 crore through abusing power, bribery, and corruption, according to the case statement.

ACC deputy director Md Abdul Wadud, who is the head of the commission鈥檚 integrated district office in Khulna, told 抖阴精品 that the ACC approved the case before the resignation of Muhammad Moinuddin Abdullah-led commission on October 29.
