The 17th edition of the Bangladesh Denim Expo will be held at the International Convention City Bashundhara in Dhaka on November 4-5.
This two-day event would feature panel discussions, trend seminars, a trend zone and exhibitions, according to a press release issued by the Bangladesh Apparel Exchange, organiser of the event.
The theme of this year’s denim expo is ‘The Blue New World.’
Mostafiz Uddin, founder and chief executive officer of Bangladesh Denim Expo, said that the garment industry in Bangladesh had been playing a crucial role in the nation’s economy, serving as a significant contributor to foreign earnings.
The event will seek answers to several questions, such as: What challenges is the textile industry in Bangladesh facing? Why is the textile industry struggling? What opportunities exist within the industry? And who benefits from the textile sector in Bangladesh?
‘I think it is high time now that we come together to formulate a robust strategy that not only addresses these challenges but also capitalises on the opportunities available. Together, we can ensure the industry’s sustainable growth,’ Mostafiz said.
The theme ‘The Blue New World’ stands as a powerful symbol of a fresh beginning in the industry — one that embraces eco-friendly practices, responsible fashion and continuous innovation.
This theme underscores the importance of trustworthy sourcing destinations like Bangladesh, where sustainability, quality and ethical responsibility converge to create a brighter, more sustainable future for the global apparel industry, said the organisers.
Over 44 exhibitors from seven countries, such as Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Turkey, Spain, Italy, etc, are set to attend the event.
Participant categories include fabric mills, denim and non-denim, garment manufacturers, washing laundry, accessories and trims, chemicals, machinery or technology and logistics.
The expo serves as a platform for networking, business opportunities, and knowledge sharing. It features exhibitions, seminars, and workshops that cover various aspects of the denim industry, such as sustainability, technology and design.
There will be four-panel discussions scheduled for the two-day event. Global experts will share their knowledge and perspectives on critical topics concerning the ready-made garments industry in Bangladesh.
The discussions will cover issues like – Securing Bangladesh RMG Industry: How Do We Confront Challenges, resiliently; What Steps Bangladesh Must Take to Lead the Global Apparel Industry by 2030?; Shaping RMG Sector in the Future: GSP+ and LDC Transition, Panel Discussion and Unpacking Buyer Opportunities in Bangladesh RMG Industry: Tapping True Growth Potential.
