
Shanto-Mariam University organised a seminar titled 'Establishing World Peace Through Non-Violent Movement' on the campus at Uttara of the capital on Sunday.
In his president's speech at the event organised by the Humanist Society, the university鈥檚 Board of Trustees chairman painter Professor Mostafizul Haque said, 鈥楾he future generations will not forgive us if we do not stop those who want to keep the world in their hands under the guise of peace and human rights. What is lacking is only our absolute unity, sacrifice of small interests for the greater interest.
Former chief education commissioner Justice Mohammad Abdur Rauf presided over the international seminar. World coordinator of the Third World March for Peace and Non-Violence and secretary of the World Summit of Nobel Peace Prize Laureates Rafael de Rubia was principal speaker of the event.
