Marking the 65th anniversary of Alliance Française de Dhaka, a three-day film festival concluded on Tuesday at the AFD auditorium.
The ‘Art Film Festival’ showcased six films, followed by post-film discussions.
The festival featured the works of renowned French filmmaker François Lévy-Kuentz, known for his monographs on artists like Chagall, Pascin, Calder, Mondrian, DalÃ, and Buñuel. His films, which have received international acclaim, explore modern and contemporary art, blending historical narratives with artistic expression.
On the closing day, two documentary films—La Révolution Bleue and Dans l’atelier de Mondrian—were screened, followed by a post-film discussion with Lévy-Kuentz, moderated by art critic Moinuddin Khaled.
The festival opened with screenings of Salvador Dali, génie tragi-comique and Chagall, A la Russie, aux ânes et aux autres.
On Monday, the second day of the festival, Nicolas de Staël, la peinture à vif and La Face Cachée de l’art Américain were screened. Â
