
Shanghai Institutes for International Studies director Professor Jiemian Yang called on the Dhaka University vice-chancellor Professor Niaz Ahmed Khan at his office on Saturday.
They exchanged views regarding various issues, including the possibilities of strengthening ongoing joint collaborative academic and research programmes among the University of Dhaka and different universities in China, said a press release.
They also discussed about the development of the Centre for China Studies at Dhaka University to conduct pragmatic researches and to strengthen relationship between Bangladesh and China, exchange of students, teachers and researchers as well as share knowledge and idea among DU and Chinese universities.聽
Jiemian Yang also delivered a lecture on China-Bangladesh Mutual Learning on Economic and Social Developments at Professor Abdul Matin Choudhury virtual classroom of the university.
He stressed the need for upholding persistent, self- reliance and adaptive attitudes to develop overall socio-economic condition of the country.
Niaz Ahmed Khan thanked Jiemian Yang for his visit to Dhaka University and keen interest in its academic and research activities.
