In observance of the Sharadiya Durga Puja, all import-export activities at the Sonamasjid Land Port will remain suspended for six consecutive days, from October 9 to October 14.

Normal trade operations were scheduled to resume on the morning of October 15, confirmed Mamun Or Rashid, general secretary of the Sonamasjid land port import-export group on Tuesday.

During this period, passengers holding valid passports will be able to travel between Bangladesh and India through the port鈥檚 immigration checkpoint.

The decision to suspend trade has been coordinated with authorities at India鈥檚 Mahadipur Land Port, who notified their Bangladeshi counterparts in advance via official correspondence.

However, port officials have clarified that loading and unloading of goods already present within the port premises would continue uninterrupted throughout the suspension period.
