Bhabadah Water Mitigation Movement Committee on Sunday held a sit-in on the premises of the Jashore deputy commissioner office, demanding the solution to water strangulation problem.
A large number of people Abhaynagar, Manirampur and Keshabpur in the district took part in the programme.
Iqbal Kabir Jahid, adviser of the committee, Ranjt Bawali, convener, Chaitanya Kumar Paul, member secretary, among others, spoke at the programme.
The speakers said that over 2 lakh people of three upazilas were now facing water-logging problems. 鈥楾heir houses, schools, colleges, madrassahs, mosques, temples, croplands and playgrounds are affected by the rainwater.鈥�
They demanded the problem should be solved permanently.
The DC Azaharul Islam talked to the affected people, and assured to solve the problem.
