
The vice-chancellor of Rabindra University, Bangladesh, Professor SM Hassan Talukder held a view-exchange meeting with journalists at the academic building of the university in Sirajganj on Wednesday.
Rabindra University treasurer Professor Feroz Ahmed, registrar (additional charge) Md Golam Shorrowar and journalists from Shahzadpur and the university attended the meeting, said a press release.
The VC paid respect to martyrs of the War of Independence and the killed in the July-August 2024 uprising, including Abu Saeed, and wished for the speedy recovery of those injured in the uprising. He also paid respect to Nobel laureate poet Rabindranath Tagore.
He said that immediately after joining the university, he exchanged views with the chairmen of various departments of the university, proctorial body, senior administration officials and anti-discrimination students of university and local administration and stakeholders of Shahzadpur, and took their opinions and suggestions.
‘Accordingly various steps are underway. The university has no permanent infrastructure. Also, students have various problems, including classroom crisis,’ he added, seeking the cooperation of all in solving those problems.
The journalists gave their opinions and suggestions regarding the development of the university.
