Bangladesh Nationalist Party expelled its two leaders for ousting secondary and higher education’s Rajshahi zone director Professor Biswajit Banerjee from his office and threatening him with death.

The expelled leaders are — Abul Kalam Azad Sweet, former president of Rajshahi Metropolitan Juba Dal, and Torab Ali Pervej, former general secretary of Rajshahi College Chhatra Dal.

Ershad Ali Esha, convener of Rajshahi Metropolitan BNP, told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that they had primarily cancelled the membership of the duo following some specific allegations against them.

‘We have urged the party’s central committee to take further actions against them,’ he added.

Earlier on Monday noon, a group of twenty-five BNP men forcibly drove out Professor Biswajit Banerjee’s from his office, and locked his room on the allegation that the Professor had only done the Awami League-backed teachers’ work.

Contacted, Abul Kalam Azad Sweet told ¶¶Òõ¾«Æ· that he did not have any involvement in Monday’s incident at the secondary and higher education’s Rajshahi zone director’s office.

‘I know why the city BNP leaders have expelled me. I have called a press conference at Rajshahi Press Club on Tuesday afternoon,’ he added
