A college student, injured in a clash between two groups at a picnic in Kushtia鈥檚 Daulatpur upazila on August 30, died to his injuries while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Rajshahi Friday night.
The deceased Rabbi Hossain, 20, was the son of Moslem Uddin of Sonaikundi Uttarpara under the upazila and an intermediate second year student of a local college.
Police and locals said that the clash broke out between the groups over a trivial matter during the picnic, leaving Rabbi critically injured.
Initially he was admitted to upazila health complex and later shifted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital, when his condition worsened, they said.
Rabbi died to his injuries while undergoing treatment at the RMCH Friday night.
Daulatpur police station officer-in-charge Mahbubur Rahman confirmed the death, saying that the victim鈥檚 family filed a case naming seven people a day after the clash.
None had been arrested in this connection so far, the OC added.
