IUB chess players Amit Bikram Roy (Computer Science and Engineering) and Justin Matthias (General Management) have secured a resounding victory in the Team Battle of the Summer Season Collegiate League, said a press release on Sunday.
This prestigious tournament, sponsored by the leading online chess platform Chess.com and Sig, brought together 46 universities worldwide, making it a highly competitive event.
Held during August 3-5, 2024, the competition saw the IUB team emerge victorious against Masaryk University (Czech Republic) in a thrilling final round. Prior to this, they secured hard-fought wins over the University of Bath (UK) in the semifinals and Stevens Institute of Technology (USA) in the quarterfinals, the release said.
