Different band troupes and singers performed at a charity concert titled Jaruri Sangjog for the flood-affected people of the country held at the Anti-Terrorism Raju Memorial Sculpture on the University of Dhaka on Friday.

Organised by the Students Against Discrimination, the concert was jointly coordinated by Shaikot Amin and Tahmid Chowdhury, and anchored by Ishrat Jahan Emu and Mustakim Mohammad.


Band troupes Samageet, Shironamhin, Kaaktaal, Mavoi, Madal, Gonje Fereshta, Betaal, Democrazy Clown, Prohori- the Poetry Band, F Minor’s, Ganga Foring, Gaanpoka and Teerondaz Repertory, and singers Anindya Biswas, Sahnewaz Tushar, Arup Rahee, Kafil Ahmed, Krishnokoli, among others, performed at the concert.

The musicians called on people of the country to help the flood-affected people and save their lives.

Mustakim Mohammad said that India’s aggressive water diplomacy had been destroying livelihoods in Bangladesh.

‘We call for support for our people, who are being affected by flood,’ said Mustakim Mohammad.

Ishrat Jahan Emu said that they condemned the neighbouring country, India, for their water diplomacy, calling people of the country to donate for the flood-affected people.
